Tritchayne Farm Cottages are newly renovated and sit within a pretty courtyard with their own fenced gardens in an area of outstanding natural beauty, three miles from the sea and one mile from the historical, rebel town of Colyton with its range of shops, pubs and electric tramway to the seaside!
Each of the four cottages has its own distinctive character and each cottage offers little personal touches to make you feel at home with White Company bed linens and soft white towels. They are all fitted with good wifi, a docking station, a television, washing machine, fridge with freezer, microwave, barbeque and personal garden furniture, hairdryers and all you need to make your holiday comfortable and easy to enjoy. Each cottage also has a wood burning stove with a plentiful supply of logs
On your arrival there is a welcome pack of the essentials: tea, coffee, sugar, milk, eggs (from the free range chickens in the field!), butter, jam and bread. There are soaps and toiletries and a bottle of wine – the colour being your choice!
Jane Urquhart, who bought the cottages in the Autumn of 2015, has prioritised quality, cleanliness and all the cottages are designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. She developed the gardens and pond area to encourage wild life and there is a herb garden with sun loungers and a dining table for guest use, a drying area for clothes, various outside corners where there are places to sit and a large pond with a deck and benches and tables for guest use. Dogs are welcome and have a large field and lovely local walks to enjoy (although they should be on a lead in the cottage gardens and field because of the chickens!) She has tried to think of the smallest detail and has created a place of calm and peace where relaxation and a chance to “recharge the batteries” is the focus.
The glasshouse is the latest addition to the facilities on offer and is equipped with a table seating 20, simple kitchen facilities, its own double burner gas barbeque and a large deck overlooking the pond… a perfect place for a family gathering. If a family books all the cottages (sleeping 12 in total) then the glasshouse is available for their personal use. Otherwise the glasshouse offers another place to rest and relax for all the guests unless there is a booking for a small function.
